A new senior citizen center was dedicated in Grove Hill Wednesday morning. Irene Collins, commissioner of the Alabama Department of Senior Services, was the guest speaker. Joining her were Grove Hill Mayor Lamar Hudson, town council members, ATRC representatives, citizens and seniors who will use the facility. The room shown will be used for meetings and as a dining space. It can seat up to 100 people for meetings. There is a serving kitchen, restrooms and office space in the building at the corner of Clark and Jackson Streets. The facility cost approximately $500,000 with half of that coming in the form of a grant from the state and the town paying for the other half.
